Who we are

Being the founders of Sinar, Irina and Sally believe that if doors are closed for women, the world is losing its potentials. Being mothers of our own daughters, we have always wanted to give girls a positive chance to be fully self realised. We believe that the power and probability for positive change lies with the potential of women.

We reach out and influence the life of women in their own community by encouraging them to earn their livelihood which in turn benefits them and their family. We contribute to their economic growth and job creation through employment and economic empowerment.

Sinar focuses on the area of women’s development but also engages the entire community into their economic independence and sustainable future.

We started in 2018 …

Sinar is a social enterprise registered as an Indonesian company limited by shares.

Sinar Training Centre starts its training activities from January 2020 in the Village of Bukit Air Molek.

Sinar purchased the land of 1,200 sq m for business development in the area of Desa Sebong Pereh Kecamatan.

5 Solar Dry Domes will be constructed to annually dry 25 tonnes of local agricultural produce for the local and international market. Read more…

We believe that …

Self-sufficiency refers to economic independence and does not rely on government and non-profit assistance programs. Productive employment is a necessary element of self-sufficiency. It is a key to fight poverty and achieve a better future. To realise our target, we decided to use a business model. We formed the company and named it SINAR. Sinar is a force to fight poverty.

A few words about the name…

The name SINAR derives from the Indonesian language. This word is so powerful that you cannot give just a “one word” translation. It means “The round body in the sky that gives light and heat to the earth”. It symbolizes our hope that everyone can achieve their dreams no matter how difficult it is.

Sinar was born out of the desire to improve the lives of less fortunate women in Indonesia. Sinar provides decent work for unemployed and low-income women.
